Pigs are out of control. No surprise here. I bet they stop when people begin to shoot back.

What was that line from that lame movie I saw recently..."it is easier to say something 100 times than it is to live it once."

And I'll bet money you've never called a cop a pig to his face in your whole life. Let alone shot at one.

This country allows police officers to commit acts of cowardice, malice, or just plain incompetence or negligence and hide behind statements like "felt threatened" or "was within department procedures". We need better training, and we NEED incompetency laws that at the VERY least, remove them from the law enforcement field, at least in a public-facing armed role. And if there is ever a case where the officer in the field should truly be let off because of "was within department procedures" even though the actions were clearly morally or ethically wrong, then whoever is the captain/mayor/etc in charge of determining those procedures should be held responsible.

guns are for dogs and batons and tazers are for humans?

probably. Again, it could be driven by protocol--best way to neutralize each type of threat. Guns for crackheads on PCP and animals, batons and tazers for the old ladies and kids.

Why do we hold dogs in urban or suburban environments anyway?
Guiding dogs for the blind are a concession I am willing to make, but otherwise there's no place for animals, in a densely populated area.
