I lost one of my best employees today...

I had one of my stores in Decatur robbed last week. Poor girl quit today. She was too traumatized after having a gun shoved in her face then dragged from her hiding place in the back room and told to open the cash register and hand over the money... I don't blame her.

The upside is that we have them do drops every thirty minutes. The downside is, he almost shot her because we had only $70 in the drawer.

Oh well, we got one of their fingerprints on the front door and cash drawer, and one of the idiots took his mask (a white ghoul Scream mask) off in the parking lot in full view of our outside security cameras. He's going to be featured on Macon County's Most Wanted.

Why do people do this?

Why do people do this? Because they are too lazy to get up off of their ass and get a regular paying job like every other decent citizen.

Their primate minds think, "Why work forty hours a week when I can rob a bank/store and get a lifetime supply of money?"

i wonder too why people do this. i dont know if its laziness or its just what they have learned through past experiences.

They do it for drugs. Its a shame your employee had the sh!t scared out of her just because some crack fiend wanted money for a hit. Im very happy she is ok.

Unfortunately, Unless you are living in Texas*, it's generally against the law to shoot someone 'in self defense' when they are clearly making an escape. So, you definitely want them facing you when you decide to pull the trigger.

*It may or may not be legal in Texas. But, I wouldn't be surprised if it was legal in Texas to shoot someone running away from you if they are still on your land and/or have just robbed/attacked you.

Yeah, AmusedOne, what shops do you own? (name?)

Sorry to hear about the employee loss, as well as the $$$ loss. Don't beat yourself up over something you can't control though. Robberies happen, people can be fvcks.

Guys, I piss enough people off on these boards, that I'm not going to have that associated with the name of national chain I'm involved with. :)

I've left enough clues that it's not hard to figure out, though. :D

Because they have nothing else to lose. Any person who would rob a sandwich shop, deli, five-and-time, Mom&Pop newspaper stand isn't going to get more than $200, maybe $500, tops. Is that worth getting your head blown off for, or going to jail for? We, the good citizens that have jobs, families, pay taxes and eat hot dogs while attending little league games would say "hell no!"

But to the individual who has a drug habit (they always do) AND who has multiple warrants for their arrest due to violating their PO (probation) and who have no home, no family; YES, it is worth it. Someone with a real drug habit will go thru $500 in two days flat...no food either.

It's a real shame that the poor girl behind the counter got traumatized like this...I know how it feels. Growing up in a poor neighborhood in NYC was not fun. Got mugged for the first time when I was eight years old. Know why the two bigger kids mugged me? For my jacket. I had on one of those old-fashioned "Snorkel Jackets" with the big hood that came out like 12 inches in front of your face...made you look like Kenny from South Park. LOL! You're neverr the same after that.

Too bad there wasn't an armed employee behind the counter. I love seeing the security cam videotapes of criminals getting their faces smeared all over the counter...it gets me hot. :p Rat bastards.

There is no excuse for not getting a damn job and "going straight." That quick 1K you get from robbing a liquor store goes real quick...and now everyone is looking for you. I hope those guys get attacked by a rabid Chiuhuahah. Twice.

That's rough. My wife sufferred from post traumatic stress syndrome from a shooting incident. It took 4 trips to a shrink.

A paralell thought.
In the eighties the S&L cost us billions. Who was responsible?
The college educated, pillars of the community sto;e millions at a time-
few saw time in the cushy farm and fewer paid back.
It just ain't fair is it?

I hope the girl recovers from the ordeal well enough to work again...

Some people say that if they ever get robbed, they would fight the robber off. But 9 times out of 10 the robber has a weapon such as a gun or a knife.

I think it's safer to let the prick get the money, and then beat the sh!t out of him when someone catches him...
Not worth losing your life over $500 in the cash drawer.

My thoughts for the day anyway ...
