Another cop shooting

Everyone should fear being stopped by the police. Especially if you are black. If you watch that video, you can see the third shot was blatantly done while the guys hands were both held high up. That is the shot that will get this officer in the most trouble. Either way, perhaps this is a new way to get people to buckle their seat belts. Buckle up or get shot. Not as good as Click it or Ticket.

The State Law Enforcement Division said in a news release that 31-year-old Sean Groubert was charged Wednesday with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Sounds like its not going to go well for this cop.

If you watch the video, you see the cop fire 2 more times even after the guy drops what is in his hands and turns around with his hands up.

I don't know if it's a training or screening problem, it does appear that some police have become ultra sensitive to the possibility a person is armed and fail to properly assess the situation before taking unwarranted actions.

I'm suspect that based on the evidence this officer will be convicted of aggravated assault & battery and sentenced to some prison time.

It has nothing to do with skin color.

I think the biggest issue is the 'cover up' mentality that modern LEOs have.

They can do no wrong.

I hope the officer serves time for this. He certainly deserves it.

It has everything to do with skin color.

ftfy

driving, walking, running, shopping, and existing while black is a crime in america these days.

im not even certain the last time i saw a white cop shoot a white guy.

i'm concerned about those 2 wayward shots what if it was an innocent victim who was shot and killed well the innocent victim who was shot is also a concern.

Notice how many shots were fired point blank and how he only hit the guy once in the hip. Pistols suck, even with a trained man using it. Also, I would have shot the guy as well. He dove back into the car quickly. I'd assume he was going for a gun for sure.

he ask for his wallet he went and reached for it.

you are serious?

only on at will you get people shooting people who are grabbing for a license and shooting people who fail to produce it.

I'm suspect that based on the relationship between the PD and the DA that this officer will NOT be convicted of anything.

You can see where the driver realizes he doesn't have his wallet in his pocket and then he goes to the car to get it.

The Cop gave the driver clear instructions for license and registration. You have to assume he is going to reach into the car again to get this. To immediatelly escalate the situation to lethal force shows a lack of training on the Cops part or just shear incompetence. If the Cop didn't want him moving back to the car like this he needed to control the situation better and give the driver better instructions. The driver is lucky he is alive. Even after the driver raises his hands up after the first couple of shots the Cop keeps shooting at him.

cops gotta be careful he might be raising his hands to throw a lightning bolt at him 🙄

Funny that the relationship didn't prevent the DA with charging the officer with Aggravated Assault and Battery.

Guess you missed this above.

I can see why the officer fired and can even see how they might try to articulate it, but that was not a good shoot.

I'm not so sure about that. I think there is an unnatural fear of black men that is helping this stuff to happen.

Of course there is, but people aren't allowed to admit to that. Its kept in the dark and people are forced to pretend that the issue is something different, guaranteeing it remains a problem.
Also, I am afraid of black men, but not because I am racist. Its because THEY are racist and hostile toward whites. The fear is justified and fuck anyone who lies about it and says its not. I'm talking about the gang banger types here, not your every day guy.
