My local news paper says 14. Again, the penalty's too light, especially after the supreme court ruled minors can't get death sentence. WTF. Who ever's involved should be shot and kill on the spot. Saves the tax payers a whole lotta money.

SFGate
(03-21) 15:41 PST RED LAKE, Minn. (AP) --

As many as 14 people were injured and some killed in a shooting Monday at a Minnesota high school, authorities said. Tom Lyons, chief deputy for Beltrami County, said up to 14 people were injured in the mid-afternoon shooting at Red Lake High School in far northern Minnesota. Lyons said a suspect was in custody, but he had no other details.

The FBI did not say how many people had been killed and also declined to release details.

Red Lake High School, on the Red Lake Indian Reservation, has about 300 students, according to its Web site.

Audrey Thayer, who lives in Bemidji and works as a researcher for the American Civil Liberties Union's Minnesota chapter, said the reservation was locked down by police with roadblocks.

"They have got it closed off," she said.

The reservation is about 240 miles north of the Twin Cities. It is home to the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians.

No link, it's on the news now... a student was apparently walking up and down the halls shooting people (armed with a shotgun and pistols), then killed himself. He shot his grandfather and grandmother at his house before arriving at school. Six fatalities including the shooter. Ugly stuff.
That's awful... but why weren't the grandfather and grandmother armed too? If they were, then perhaps this tragedy would never have happened... we clearly need *more* guns. 😛

Seriously though, that's really F-'ed up. I think I'd prefer 14-year-old geniuses committing suicide, rather than randomly shooting up their classmates and classrooms. I guess the "hidden rage" flows both ways.

i wish these people would kill themselves first, THEN take everyone else out

reminds me of an old newfie joke (apologies if I screw it up)

a newfie husband comes home to find his wife in bed with another man, he runs to his sock drawer and gets the gun, and aims it to his head.. the wife starts laughing, the husband says "laugh all you want, you're next!."

Fvcking CounterStrike: Source. It made CS even more realistic, further blurring the line for this otherwise normal, healthy kid. 😉

It was GTA:San Andreas you idiot!

No way, Doom strikes again!

Wow, he was a bad shot. Someone should train these kids better.
LMAO .. 😛

You know, I've often thought that. Seems to me that it should be no hard task to knock off at least several HUNDRED.
