Another Chrome problem

I sent in a report to Google a month back about the way it handles returning to a previous page but there's another thing that bothers me about Chrome. When I launch a new instance of Chrome it is very common that it is too far to the right and the vertical scroll bar is off the screen and unusable until you move the window to the left. PITA!

I've never seen this problem. For me, the Chrome window remembers its last position on screen.

How often does this happen for you? All this time, or just occasionally?

This sounds like a Windows problem, not a Chrome problem. Windows tends to remember your window position and size for future uses. While it's useful, it can also be horribly annoying - I still can't figure out exactly what makes a "default" window size and position "stick."

Anyway, I'm not sure exactly where the settings are saved, but I do know that some clean-up programs like CCleaner will take care of this for you. Give it a shot.

What I think OP is referring to is when you already have an instance of Chrome up and you bring up a new window, the window is always positioned slightly to the right.

This happens with every Chrome/Chromium version I've used

Doesn't happen here, but I get a rather small Chrome window when opening a second instance.

Bingo, that's what I'm talking about.

Many windows open biased towards the left side of the screen but that covers the icons I have on the left side so I tend to move my active windows to the right edge. Then, when I launch another instance of Chrome the new window is further right and the vertical scroll bar is either partially or totally hidden beyond the right edge of the screen. I have not had this problem with IE or Firefox so it is deffinately a Chrome issue and not a Windows issue per se.
