Another Chipotle sucks thread

LOL they give you a peter north style load of crema all over your food. I can most assure you that shit is not healthy.

A standard burrito bowl with asada is 900 calories, 45g fat, 2g's sodium. WITHOUT CHIPS.
And it's perfectly healthy. If the portion size is too much for you, eat half and save the rest.

I heard all the rave about "Chipotle!" for a couple of years, so when one opened near us, I had to try it.
I was sorely disappointed. It's "Mexican food" only because they wrap the contents in a burrito. Bland, flavorless, and one of the worst fast-food-type meals I've had in decades.

I never went back.
Unfortunately, Qdoba seems to have followed the same business model, offering about the same bland, tasteless "imitation Mexican food" as Chipotle.

Imitation mexican food? Does it have to be authentic? Were you expecting a blazing hot plate of melted cheese goo smothering mystery meat enchilada's? Do you even know what authentic mexican food is?
Chipotle has never made the claim of being "authentic"

i was not aware that you had to get crema on your stuff at chipotle no matter what. i must have missed it the past decade of eating there. man i learn new things every day on atot, thanks for making threads about things you all hate!

This. Seriously. I just sprinle a little hot sauce on mine. I dont even eat there but 4-5 times per year but the hate fests are nuts.

SO DON'T FUCKING EAT THERE!!!!

I really don't get the urge to get all piss and vinegar over fast food. For my part I eat at Chipotle 1-3 times a week and have magically maintained 180 lbs without serious effort.

Then again I usually get:
Bowl
brown rice
black beans
double chicken
fajitas
double mild salsa

So yeah, I guess I avoid the double-cheese-smothered-in-sour-cream-triple-guac crap that everyone seems to think is the standard chipotle meal.

More for me

I wish more people disliked it because it's usually so packed I decide to go elsewhere. Damn shame

Also white people eat there and like it. You should see them standing in line being all white and stuff. Ugh.

The only places where they have them is nicer areas which is why I'm sure so many people here say it's good, no decent Mexican food around them.

Chipotle is great most the time. Sometimes you get a moron behind the counter.

Cafe Rio is better IMO. There are a couple more authentic joints around, but they are DEFINITELY hit or miss. Very questionable on the sanitary front. LOL

I tried Cafe Rio once, didn't care for it, not to mention at the one near me the staff was screaming things when people ordered certain things. Screaming as in cheering of some sort, it was fucking annoying.

That's a pretty ignorant statement. If you live in SoCal, you know neighborhoods can vary greatly within a couple miles of each other. I can drive 5 minutes one way to a hole in the wall carniceria, or 5 minutes another way to Chipolte or any other fast food chain.

Seriously, it's actually kind of fun how anti-Chipolte folks get their panties bunched up. So much energy being douchey.

You get what you see (meat isn't some % of non-meat), it's cheap, and reasonably rounded (meat/starch/some veggies). Yea it's not quite what you could get at a good hole in the wall/legit restaurant, but what the hell are you expecting from assembly line food for 7-8 dollars? I switched to the burrito bowls personally so much better when you don't have to deal with "zones" because of lazy asses.

Chipotle isn't so bad. If you're going to be such a health wise and beautiful woman about it, don't eat there.

For me, carbs are a little important because I'm diabetic, so..normally, I just get a burrito without beans or rice now. I ask for extra grilled veggies to fill it out.

So, it turns out OK for me. The tortilla is pretty high in carbs, but I normally take the hit because I usually have to walk a bit to and from chipotle and my insulin will take care of some of it and the walking will get the rest.
