CraigRT, Just following what an MSI motherboard book told me the order should be. Also tech support rep with Tyan.

1. OS
2. Chipset driver (VIA, SIS, nVIDIA, Intel, etc.)
3. Video driver
4. Direct X

That's the way I've always done it and this is the first time I've ever had trouble.

maya, Here's my results:

Fast Writes: Off
AGP apature: 128
AGP setting: 8x
AGP voltage: 1.5v

Instant lock up in Unreal Tournament. I think I got off two shots. It did bring me back to the desktop to send ATI an email with what went wrong. First time it hasn't totally locked up the machine

Fast Writes: Off
AGP apature: 128
AGP setting: 8x
AGP voltage: 1.6v

Played three maps in Unreal Tournament without any problems at all. Now I'm going to play some Star Trek Elite Force 2 and see how it likes Open GL. Seems stable to me. But I think I'm going back to AGP 4x and Fast Writes: Enabled.

Two things:

1. My solution should fix your refresh rate for all games, while yours is only good for ST:EF2.
2. Always install DirectX before the video card drivers! You can update afterwards, sure, but, on a clean system, install DX before the drivers.
