The birthers are not really questioning Obama?s birth rights or location. They are actually a fringe resurrection of something that has been around for a long long time. The Klan.
These people are not really concerned about where Obama was born. No solid proof of citizenship will ever satisfy them. What they are upset about is that a black man sits in the Whitehouse.

The term ?birthers? is the new cape and hood. Their secret handshake.
Their ?Are you one of us? movement.
They were already upset enough with black man in the presidency, but now this black man is picking a Latino woman to set on the US supreme court.
That put them over the edge, and started the whole birthers thing going, again.
And we shouldn?t be surprised who?s involved, like CNN?s Lou Dobbs.
In the old days of the Klan, some of the most upstanding citizens were members. Teachers, clergy, the local store owner, the doctor, the everyday housewife.
That is why they needed the disguise of robes and hoods, back then.

The birthers movement is the modern day resurrection of the Klan.
They are not upset about Obama, as much as they are upset that ?America?
they knew is slipping away from them.
That is why no proof of citizenship from Obama will ever satisfy them,
because that is not what their fight is about. That is not the real issue.
They are mad and angry that a black man sits in the Whitehouse, makes decisions,
and can call the shots.

So its about time these so called ?birthers? are called out for what they really are.
What they really stand for. What they really are doing, or trying to do.
This is important for discussion because they are never going to drop the issue.
And their movement will grow.
Because their issue is not the citizenship of a black president,
it?s the issue that a black president exists. And this president is now naming
a woman Latino to the highest court in the land.
And yes, high profile people like Lou Dobbs (and many others) are not ashamed
to admit they are a part of this group. This movement.
They are not harmless, they have power, and need to be exposed foSr what they are.
The modern day Klan.

Ok maybe we have a terminology issue, but by "Klan" I speak of American's feeling their "white" America is being hijacked. Taken away.
They have no tolerance of minorities.
They have never accepted civil rights.
They still believe in segregation.
They are repulsed with any minority holding what they consider
white-only places of power.

And the proof?
You will see these birthers will never accept any form of proof
on citizenship. Why? because THAT is NOT the issue here.
I link them to the old time Klan because they hide in disguise
behind making an issue of a non issue.
Refusing to see logic. Refusing to accept logic.
The old double standard. Double meaning.
They know what they are really doing. Trying to do.
And believe me, they are dangerous to freedom.
Very much like operation of the old time Klan.
If you think they are just nutcases, or that they will go away,
you're very much mislead.
The issues may change, but the goals will remain the same.
And they are hardly to be dismissed as simple crack pots.

Time will tell... Just don't be surprised what comes up next.

Explain why they refuse to accept proof?
Explain why the dancing around the subject.
Some republicans are about to introduce bills
to challenge Obama's legitimacy.
This one is race. Pure and simple.
Others maybe not, but this birthers movement is.
And Sonia Sotomayor set then off, again, on this whole thing.
What do you call that?

Because they're conspiracy nuts. That's how they act on all issues.

error 404: proof of racism not found.

they very well may be, but it's pure conjecture on your part with no evidence to support your theory.

Obama got off easy on many questions about his background and associations because he was half black. No white candidate would have survived an association like a Rev Wright. The problem is McCain's citizenship was directly vetted by the Senate and constitutional experts Larry Tribe and Ted Olsen were asked to render opinions. Obama on the other hand was vetted by the Daily Kos. They produced the first certificate of live birth. It said Obama's fathers race was "African" which is wrong because African is not a race (lots of white Africans). "Negro" is what would have been used at the time. Obama's school registration filled out by his step father lists Obama as Indonesian.

Andrew McCarthy of National Review Online wrote that the Kenyan birth angle is a distraction and the real issue is the Indonesian citizenship because that would carry other ramifications:

"Shortly after divorcing Barack Obama Sr., Obama's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, married an Indonesian Muslim, Lolo Soetoro Mangunharjo, whom she met - just as she had met Barack Sr. - when both were students at the University of Hawaii. At some point, Soetoro almost certainly adopted the youngster, who became known as "Barry Soetoro." Obama's lengthy, deeply introspective autobiographies do not address whether he was adopted by the stepfather whose surname he shared for many years, but in all likelihood that did happen in Hawaii, before the family moved to Jakarta.

Under Indonesian law, adoption before the age of six by an Indonesian male qualified a child for citizenship. According to Dreams from My Father, Obama was four when he met Lolo Soetoro; his mother married Soetoro shortly thereafter; and Obama was already registered for school when he and his mother relocated to Jakarta, where Soetoro was an oil-company executive and liaison to the Suharto government. That was in 1966, when Obama was five. Obama attended Indonesian elementary schools, which, in Suharto's police state, were generally reserved for citizens (and students were required to carry identity cards that matched student registration information). The records of the Catholic school Obama/Soetoro attended for three years identify him as a citizen of Indonesia. Thus Obama probably obtained Indonesian citizenship through his adoption by Soetoro in Hawaii. That inference is bolstered by the 1980 divorce submission of Ann Dunham and Lolo Soetoro, filed in Hawaii state court. It said "the parties" (Ann and Lolo) had a child (name not given) who was no longer a minor (Obama was 19 at the time). If Soetoro had not adopted Obama, there would have been no basis for the couple to refer to Obama as their child - he'd have been only Ann Dunham's child."

For a vast majority ...... their 'team' lost. For far too many politics has turned into a sport and god forbid the other team ever win even if they happen to be right.

I have no doubt race is an issue for some, but I doubt they account for more than 5 - 10% of the fringe.

Lets just assume this nutty little rant is true. How does it change anything? Obama was born in Hawaii. Anyone born in the USA or born of a US Citizen (his mom) is a Citizen.

I am not well versed in the birthers movement, but how does an indonesian stepfather when he was a youngster change anything?
