Americans are warned to leave Yemen, and conservatards are off inventing faux scandals.

JUSTICE FOR TRAYVON!

Someone posting a comment on an article is not quite the same as all the leftist media bullshit trying to incite racial divisions.... while the middle east explodes, IRS officials breaking the law, no change in employment rates.... etc.

When conservative leaning media outlets run this story 24/7 your point will be well taken. Until then stop the whining.

Truth is he would be an awful parent if, with his resources, he sent his kids to public schools.

Public schools are largely a nightmare in California. No child left behind was a disaster as well.

Limousine liberals are what they are, it's feel good first and typically feel good only with that ilk.

This sort of hypocrisy is standard for liberal actors and politicians.

Advocate for gun control while starring in movies where they're shooting everything that moves and live a life where they're protected by security guards, who often have guns.

Advocate for more cultural and racial diversity while living in some of the whitest neighborhoods imaginable, and sending their kids to extremely white schools.

Talk about carbon footprints while flying around in private jets...

etc etc

Meh.

Matt Damon's anti-gun stance is what makes him a big hypocrite more than anything else. Anything else is just extra icing.

I don't disagree - but even in the shitty schools - the honor's classes are pretty decent. How many kids do you think ask to be placed in honors class? Exactly.

Hell, you can complete 1-2 years of college credits in honors classes by graduation.

No you can't. Honors classes don't count for shit in college. AP classes do however. And there is a difference.

The problem with public schools is that there are students who want to be there forced to intermingle with those who dont. And at the end of the day, the result is a bunch of kids who mostly dont even want to be there, and all they learn is how to find stupid videos on youtube to make themselves even stupider. The solution is to make schools pay to play. Make it optional, instead of mandatory for the taxpayer.

Why isn't that a problem in Finland? They have one of the smallest gaps between the lowest achievers and the highest achievers. And you can't say they don't have any poor people in the country.

And to top it all off, they have if not the best, one of the best education systems in the world.

What doesn't quite make sense?

your understanding of the issue doesn't quite make sense.

twisted and turned logic and reason you did!

On Topic: Matt Damon employs logic and reasoning that is sound and sensible. Which is why you see a bunch of rightwing people confused and pissed off about it. They don't get it.

Right - thats what I meant, my appologies :p Thanks for the correction. I wasn't in AP or honors for long :whiste:

But nevertheless, I will defend them. The potential is there.

Wait - how is he a hypocrite? Did he ever say 'All kids should go to public schools'? Not according to that article or anything I've read.

Yes, he has quite vociferously decried vouchers and called private schools "elitist" before. So, he wants to deny people who don't have money the choice to get their kids a better education than what is offered in public schools, yet he himself has no problem sending his own kids to a private school instead. He's a typical scumbag hypocrite.

You have a link on Damon calling private schools "elitist?" I Googled Damon, private schools and elitist and I'm not seeing it. I can only see conservatives referring to Damon himself as an elitist.

I think we'll be hearing about it for some 24 hours, til they are certain the lemmings got the memo to hate on Matt Damon. After that there's no need to continue, for the damage will have been done.

I think the fever is breaking and the wave of rage has passed. When you're down to ranting about Matt Damon the show is over and it's time to go fetch a burger.

So sad you dont get it. If guns were outlawed like he said..he wouldnt need a bodyguard with a gun. Logic 101 here.

Not saying i agree with him, i dont. But at least think logically here.
Logically speaking Obama doesn't need his Secret Service agents to carry guns when he visits China and the UK...."logically" speaking of course.

He's an actor. An ACTOR. Why people care at all about these people or what their opinions are is beyond me. It's crazy the influence they can wield. I'll take their opinions on science, politics, and the like just as much as I would the person that hands me my order at the McDonald's drive through. Not that they are bad people, but I just don't give a shit what they think. :)

This!!!
