On a 939 nforce3 board, is there any difference at all between using memory slots 3 and 4 (the ones further away from the cpu) for two sticks instead of slots 1 and 2?

I am trying to decide between the XP-90 and XP-120 heatsinks for a K8N Neo2 board; I would like to use the XP-120, which is only about $5 more, but it apparently blocks the first memory slot. If I can just use the other two slots without any problems, this wouldn't matter. The MSI website shows this 3 and 4 combo as a valid DC configuration but those specs aren't always reliable.

I have an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum and I got the XP-90 because I read the XP-120 was incompatible with it - cannot recall where, but I did my research prior to buying.

Maybe blocking the two RAM slots made it incompatible, in which case slots 3 and 4 could be used, but I think it had something else to do with the capacitors or something else around the CPU slot. Go with the XP-90 - it works wonderful.

That's what the Thermalright website says actually, but someone here said that it works fine except that it blocks the memory slot closest to the processor socket.
