Question is, does that balance out?

I think so, but it obviously depends on position. I guess I'd rather have the range, particularly later in the game.

I mamaged tp get a 70 when i finally died... I had 2 fully upgraded water towers, 2 water towers that are 1 away from being fully upgraded, and two of those expensively slow, range-degraded-as-you-upgrade but heavy damaging towers all in about the middle of the map.

I also had 3 fire towers (worthless by the time i reached high waves, didnt upgrade them full and a sole storm tower i started out with.

Maybe i should have built nature towers?

The fact of this game is that the damage the "invaders" can take grows at a rate that is faster than the rate at which the money they yeild upon being defeated.

Maybe if you earned an extra citizen for every $5k you got or something...

This is fun, but I wish there were an actual way to get past the low seventies and have a chance all the way through infinite.

I must be stupid, because I can't get past level 17 🙁

EDIT: Ok, I got it now. Didnt realize you had to click on an individual tower to upgrade it. Got to 60 this time 😀

Yeah 🙁 I got 71, 76, 74 and then decided even if I was amazing I'd only get like 80 😛

I'm trying to figure out what the best strategy is.... I wish they would post each of the tower stats and upgrade costs before the game starts so I could figure out what is most cost effective.

from reading what other people do, i'm stacking water turrents up along the front straight away. it's working well.

EDIT: hmm, only lvl 13

do you put them EVERYWHERE?

has anyone gotten the 3rd flower tower

there surely must be a way, and also nature towers ftw, i get barely any farther tho than when i use water because lower-mid 70s it just gets too hard...

is the rate of fire different between the towers? my strategy so far has been 1 water to upgrade 3 then save to upgrade a nature past its weak levels then after I get the nature to max I build another and max it - repeat....

edit: i also build in the middle of the map - max nature can almost reach everything

The problem, as already stated, is that the strength of the enemies goes like (1.25)^n wheras your money only increases by 2n where n is the wave. That's why so long as you start out okay, the early levels like ~20 are really simple to beat as 2n > 1.25^n for small n. But as n gets large, 1.25^n is much bigger and there's not much you can do about it.

The early levels seem to have the enemy strength at around 4. By level 70 the enemy strength is 4*(1.25)^70 ~ 24 million.

Each nature tower shoots 9000. Thus each enemy needs 2700 shots to kill it. If you have 9 nature towers they each need to shoot 300 shots to kill the enemy. Seems close I guess.

The idea is to give your turrets the most useful time possible. If a turret can only cover half the map, then a single enemy going through the map will only be under fire 1/2 the time. You want to make sure your turrets are constantly firing.

Putting turrets in the exact center of the map means they need a range just over 200 or so to cover the entire thing. So build full or near full water towers or full nature towers near the center of the map to make sure they're constantly firing.

I don't understand why you'd build anything but water and lightning towers... The leaf and the fire ones aren't as cost effective, especially when you upgrade.

I think a big factor is the firing rate... waters are better than plants because they can shoot much more rapidly.

Why lightning? 20 damage a shot??

76 with plant and water this time. the range of the plant cannot hit the entire map no matter where you put it.

Someone needs to figure out how to get the fully upgraded turret tower which is ~909000 damage per shot 😛.
