Another 970 or upgrade to 1070

I absolutely need to upgrade because my 970 is not cutting it in VR games like dirt rally and project cars. Gives me intense motion sickness because of the fps falling below 90. Should I get another 970 since they are so cheap or pay for a 1070 and hope to sell the 970 for a decent amount

What's your system and monitor like as unless it's up to the task also it may not be worth it as much?

I would go for a single card as last I checked vr doesn't support sli unless that was changed awhile ago since I don't care enough about that right now to research it. 😉

Not even a question, go with the GTX 1070.

System is i5 6500 overclocked to 4.3ghz, 16gb ddr4. I use my 55" oled 1080p TV as monitor

It doesn't matter that the card dips down below 90fps because your monitor is only refreshing at 60hz most likely. So you will only see 60 refreshes a second.

Playing games on a huge monitor like that I can't believe would be good for your eyeballs and equilibrium.

If I were you I'd get a 27inch gaming monitor with g-sync. Nice and smooth - nothing jumpy or jagged.

I am talking about VR inside the Vive and Oculus. I dont think I need a new monitor.

Anyway I have the option of the Gigabyte Gaming G1 or the MSI Armor OC. Those are the only ones available for order from Amazon.Which one should I get?

I sold my 970 and got a 1070 and it's a huge improvement gaming in 1440p. Got the MSI gaming 8G (some consider it to have the best air cooling).

Got the Asus Strix OC card. Now waiting to see if I can sell the 970 before opening it up.
