Anodizing

Can this be done relatively inexpensively? I'd like to get a Cooldrive 3 for my Raptor (starting to whine a little) but I wanted it to be black to go with the rest of the drives in my case. I know aluminum can be anodized black, but are there shops that do this? I'm in the Northern VA area if this helps.

Anodizing isn't something yu'd want to fool around with at home. It's not a hard process, but many chemicals are involved that wouldn't be easy to get rid of.

I'd check for local shops that are set up to do this.

There are plenty of places that do anodizing, however, there is usually a minimum lot price for up to a certain weight/surface area. I wanted to anodize some parts for my Yamaha Wolverine, but the minimum was like $175, I said screw it and painted them. Doesn't hurt to call tho, they might be able to squeeze it in with another batch of the same color.
