Annoying windows wallpaper problem...help....!!!

I was looking at various "wallpapers" last night and set one of them as my desktop (directly from the webpage) - decided I didn't like it and then reverted to my original "wallpaper".

Now each time I start or shut down the PC the other (unsaved) wallpaper keeps appearing?

It's only there momentarily but it's annoying...I'd like to know why it does this even although it's not "applied" or selected???

I've seen this happen before but never know how you stop it doing this?

Any ideas?

Dangit, I had this problem to when I use to download wallpapers. I also learned to fix the problem. I also knew how to avoid.
As you can see i'm using all past tense words. When I remember I'll let you know.

IF you set your wallpaper to none, reboot, do you momentarily see the other wallpaper anymore?

I THINK it's a cache problem. Just delete the old wallpaper and clear the contents of the 'temporary internet files' folder. Should do the trick.

OK I tried clearing the Internet history (oops) last night but I'll give those other suggestions a shot 🙂
Report back later to let you know 🙂
If I delete the temp net files will that mean I lose my cookies for passwords/logins etc?

Well I took the "belt and braces" option.

1. Deleted all the temp net files for the site I set the wallpaper from.
2. Set wallpaper to none.
3. Rebooted.

Sorted! 🙂

Thanks 🙂
