I have 2 types of accounts on this comp, an Administrator account and a Guest account. When I log in and log out of the adminitrator account, it saves all my settings fine. But when I log into a Guest account and log off of it, it forgets all of the settings. It's like as if the computer is booting for the very first time when I go into Guest mode. Is there anyway to save the settings in Guest mode? Also, is there a configuartion utility that will let me control what the Guest account can do and what it cannot?

the guest account doesn't really have much flexibility in any of your system's configuration. it's only there for a guest to use the computer without destroying your configuration.
as for the setting resetting, i've never had that since i don't use the guest account.
try creating another use and set it as guest as well, the one you create yourself might be able to save the settings...

The reason why it's doing this is because each account have their own profiles under W2k. As it's ment to be for a distributed environment where user A might not have the same software / settings as user B. One solution you can use is to setup a "default" account the way that you like. Then have that profile copied to the other accounts that you like to have that setting. I think it's done through controle pannel -> Users. Can't remember clearly since I've only ever done that once.

The part were you copy 1 profile to others is done through the 'Properties' for 'My Computer' under 'User Profiles' tab. Here you can choose to copy 1 profile to another or copy 1 profile to a 'default profile' which will allow users to have the same profile. The 'default profile' is normally hidden and its path is 'C:\Documents and Settings\default user'. Also, if you decide to copy to the 'default user', make sure you set the permissions on that profile to 'Everyone'.
