Hi there, I have searched in these forums, asked on other forums etc but havent found an answer to my problems, so I just hope you guys may be able to help me fixing this problem.

A couple of weeks ago I bought Windows Vista Buisness OEM.
Not to long after I installed the new OS the sound keeps "skipping" or jumping if you will.
(I dont know if its the right term)
This happens on both audio and video files. Its random when it occurs and how much it will be.

Everything worked perfectly in XP.
Ive tried both my Echo Mia Midi soundcard and the AC'97 integrated in the mobo.

Thanks for all the help in advance!

How old is your computer? It seems like Vista has trouble fetching the sound information fast enough.

Well I have a AMD Opteron 165, rad 1950pro, MSI k8n neo4

The "vista score" is around 4-5 in all areas, cant imagine the hardware is too slow to prosess the sound fast enough, but yeah it may seem that way.

Yeah. It could be a problem since the default Microsoft driver might be too slow or not fully supporting the audio chip. Try using Windows Update to see if you can get the driver.

I cant find any drivers for my mobo, but for my soundcard I have two Vista drivers that works, but has this problem. (Windows Update cant find anything new)

I thought maybe with an fw/usb soundcard the problem would be avvoided. On saturday I may be able to check out a usb headset, maybe it will work.

I switched pci slots between my soundcard and a sata controller pcicard, it seems fine now!

Happy New Year!
