Annoying device manager issue

I switched my NIC into another PCI slot without uninstalling the device prior to shutting down. So now when the device is redetected it reads as "Realtek RTL8139/810X Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC #2". Now that #2 is annoying me, dont ask me why Im just weird like that. So how do I remove the original reference to that device so I can reinstall it without it showing up as a #2.

Remove both 1 and 2 from device manager, reboot and let windows detect it.

Yep, do what happypuppy said. It's the easiest way.

There is no #1 they're is only the #2.

Maybe I have to resort to some registry editing?
