Annoying companies that make annoying proprietary formats.

Can anyone provide me with the crappy HP software that creates "WebAlbums" with a .albm file extension?

I just got married over the weekend. A family member emailed us some wedding photos but of course used their HP Photo software to create a photo album in one file.

So basically I can't get to any of the pictures because I don't have the HP Photo software.

I couldn't find the software on HP's site so I could download it.

This is an older woman that probably has little idea on how to use computers. She just used what came with her camera I assume. If these companies that made the products used a little common sense, they would use standard formats to start with.

Yeah, zip up all your images. Any major OS does a slideslow of images in a folder.

I too hate the companies that make special software just as an excuse to shove their logo in your face again and again. Not to mention all the bloat takes up a lot of memory - I worked on someone's HP computer already. There's something like 7 HP programs running at startup whose main purpose seems to be to eat up RAM to encourage the purchasing of upgrades.
