I see this all too often with all the sports. Here's an example:

Hatteberg snapped a 2-for-27 skid with a solo shot off rookie John Maine (1-1) in the first inning. . .

Yeah he got a hit, but he's still 3-28, and still in a slump. If he was 0-27 then yes he snapped out of his hitless streak, but 3-28 is still a skid depending on what he does in his next 5-10 at bats.

Too many stats in baseball. "He's been 2-for-20 since the All-Star-Break." WhoTF cares about "since the ASB"... just because they took 3 days off doesn't mean he sucked or was better than before then. What about the 3-for-16 just before the break ? Who cares about any of it. It's not like it's an 0-for...

"(playername) is the 6th player to hit 3 homeruns in his first 3 games, since 1966. What about since 1960 ? What about since 1940 ? What about since the inception of stats keeping ? Or since Elias Sports Bureau decided they needed more employees ? Who cares.

You know why they have so many useless stats and facts ? Because they need to fill the time between pitches. I watch baseball but it's painfully slow.

I agree, Koenigsegg, that is stupid. It's also stupid when they say, after a ball is hit hard, "He really extended his arms there." If you know anything about hitting beyond having watched a lot of it, you know that to hit a ball hard you don't extend your arms all that much.
