In a slightly off-track (but related) entertainment, I've found this gem:

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2300406

The collective panic and blind faith was amusing at first sight, but by the 3rd page or so the thread becomes downright scary. It's almost like some religious cult gathering, top to bottom, waiting for the 2nd coming or something.

They are the same people who think the market actually wants a $1000+ tablet that is insanely overpowered for anything that people do with a tablet. But at least it can run Crysis (crappily) right? And look at my <10s Superpi tablet scores!

I don't see what's wrong with progression?

$1000 tablet? Just get an ultrabook at that point. A tablet's never really meant as a replacement for your computer, except for casual browsing, chatting, media consumption. Text input on a tablet is never going to be that amazing unless you have a hard keyboard... which just screams get a laptop.

$1000 laptop? Just get an desktop at that point. A laptop's never really meant as a replacement for your desktop, except for casual browsing, chatting, media consumption. Text input on a laptop is never going to be that amazing unless you have a hard wired keyboard... which just screams get a desktop.

Slightly changed to show the exact same arguments that were made when laptops were up and coming. :)

New tech doesn't just suddenly debut at cheap prices. It takes a generation or two of bugs and price adjustments before a product really settles into its proper place.

That is my problem with Ultrabooks- they are a dead form factor because its so easy to imagine some awesome x86 tablet with the form factor on an Asus Transformer. Why have a tablet or an Ultrabook when you could have both?

Come on Intel, catch up to our freaking imaginations.

Have you not seen Intel's 4th generation Haswell reference designs? They are doing what you ask

And they're also the ones used to mock fan-oriented sites like AMDZone and some crazy AMD fans there. Try replacing every "Intel" they utter with "AMD" and it becomes clearer how crazy they are. Not that Intel can't/won't be able to compete in the future, but those folk's complete lack of self-awareness is just impressive and depressing at the same time. (which is why I stopped going there long time ago)

PHOLED? Seriously? Rumors are getting wackier and wackier.

I wouldn't consider that rumor to be one of the more wacky ones, Samsung showed off a similar technology a while back and there was even some speculation that it would appear in the SGS3.

As long as it's not LCD, I will be happy. AMOLED is what makes Galaxy a Galaxy.

Well, who knows if it's the Galaxy S4, but these Chinese pics definitely are of a Galaxy S4 (specifically the dual-SIM Chinese version).

And can you guys stop responding to the anti-Korean threadcrapping troll in the other thread? Most of us have blocked him for a reason.
