Modular upgradeable buildings and moon colonies! I'm excited to go there 🙂

I guess the franchise has left earth.

It looks really pretty, almost too pretty. I haven't read anything about game play yet. I also didn't play the last Anno that left earth and went underwater if I recall correctly. I have play the other ones that were based on trading which were fun.

This one comes out next week so I will be keeping my eye on it.

As someone who's played them all since 1602, i too am excited.

However, i am holding off for now. As it currently stands there is NO multiplayer. i love the Anno series for my co-op sessions with my brother, so afraid this is a no-go until they update/ patch/ DLC it.

It does look beautiful though. 🙂

P.S. Also, shame for the Ubisoft tie-up. Would be an easier decision without.

I played the early ones and quite liked them but never tried the modern versions, I might go back and try the newer existing ones. Have the mechanics changed much at all over the years?

It seems to me they still haven't fixed a lot of issues with Anno 2070. Lots of people seem to trouble launching the game, connection issues etc. What sucks though is if you can't connect to the server, you can't access your upgrades, if I remember this correctly, I haven't played in over two years.
I'm gonna stay away from this new one.

Didn't they have their own game service at the time? It looks like this one can be bought from Steam. Not sure if that actually matters when it comes to online activation.

Didnt like it.

Way too complicated to get basic stuff done. The pretty graphics were not enough to keep me coming back.

I believe even if you buy it through steam, you still have to install uplay to play.

Yea I was about to buy 2070 when I read about the U-play issues. That made me hold off and now this looks good but I don't want another service when it is already on Steam. U-play also kept me away from Might and magic.

It's a lot better now. The first weeks were a mess!

I played 2070 as recently as last weekend.

The game launches directly from Steam. Uplay is running somewhere in the background, but unless it needs updating, you wont see it.

Loved the early Anno series. Never could get into the 2070.
I'm not big on the multiplayer... not sure if I should bite on this one or not...

Ah that's a big turn off then and why I didn't buy the last Anno. I couldn't stand that aspect of the last Sim City having to wait to play a game I owned caused their servers were down.

ANNO always was about microcontrolling, I am even afraid to think about how many features they added and how complicated the game became.

😀 and here I was more concerned that I'd spell Anno wrong...

Did you play the last one Anno 2070?

One easy way to remember is that the numbers should add up to 9, e.g. 1404, 1602, 2205 etc.

They've been mostly cutting out features from what I understand. Trade routes are no longer a thing. Still, if you don't like micro management - wrong genre.
