Hey edm,

I bought the Annihilator 2 MX... "BIG mistake!", I thought at first... I totally overlooked that the data-path between video-RAM and the gfx-chip is 64bit :( So if you have enough money, go get the GTS!

Performance is not bad with the Annihilator2MX but it's not as fast as a SDR-version with 128bit data-path. And don't forget: it comes without a heatsink.
So the next thing I'm going to do, is attach a heatsink and o/c it to 200. the video-RAM is working at 143MHz (that is 286 DDR) by default. I checked 166MHz (333DDR) and it worked flawlessly (10x loop in 3dmark2k). (Hyundai 7ns)

Here are my 3dmark results (at default clock 175/286):

Buy the gts from Decoy or Untamo in the FS/FT section for $150. Tons of people can vouch for them.

Buy (2) MX cards and invite me over for Deathmatch!

If you won't share then get the GTS, so you have a chance against my GTS. :)

lol, j/k

Both cards are nice, that i can say. Personally, i can't see a huge difference in the 2 cards. UNLESS! you run 1024 res. or higher, then go GTS all the way...

High resolution will show the difference in the cards...

Thanks for the input guys, I was gonna go with the GTS, but saw the Voodoo 5500 dropped in price. so I picked that up instead for $137. This is my first 3dfx card so i hope i made the right choice, but for that price had to go with it.

Thanks again

Oooouch - you could have had a GTS for $150 and you opted to save $13 and get a V 5500? Save the receipt, the GTS is a superior card. 3DFX could close its doors or be swallowed by nvidia any day now.

PS - don't flame me, I wish 3dfx well, but they have not stepped up to plate or matched nvida's intensity like ATI has.
