Dick Clark wasn't always an old man???!!!

If I'm not mistaken, our very own Harvey is listed as the writer on one of her 45's.

RIP

I grew up watching Annette on the Mickey Mouse Club and her movies. RIP, and thanks for all the great memories.

Here's a link to the song on youtube. They mistakenly titled it, "My Guy," which is the title for another hit of the period by Mary Wells so it's a bit difficult to find on Google without including more search terms.

The other writer on the label, Joe Saraceno, was a producer at Liberty Records. The song, based on the old highschool cheer, was his idea, and he asked me to write the song. I originally wrote it with yet another artist, Leslie Gore, in mind, but he had the connection to Annette's people. I got a special kick out of some of the posted comments noting that it sounded like a Leslie Gore tune.

Harvey, I was five years old when you were sitting in Joe Saraceno's office 🙂. A few years later I saw Beach Blanket Bingo on the afternoon movie while home sick one day, and it was Annette Funicello that made me realize girls might be a lot more interesting than I had suspected up to that point.

Side note, back in the 80's I delivered medical supplies weekly to Frankie Avalon's mom. Her house was full of his memorabilia, and one of the first things she asked me was whether I remembered him. I told her I could remember Annette a lot better, and she got a laugh out of it.
