I hate it. My little sister got way into it because it was such a fad. She falls for everything that's new and hip and cool. I really can't stand it. Pokemon is about as anime as I get.

Pokemon is crappy 5 fps anime show with repetitive storylines and horrible animation.;)
*edit* however i liked to watch it when i was 12-14 years old. :clock:

That's what I'm saying. I know it's the equivalent of Good Charlotte to punk music. I just can't stand the stuff.

I watched this crap when i was younger (first anime i saw was Akira in an art theatre 15 years ago), but i just can't understand how adults can watch it. I tried a couple of popular ones like Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell (the series), but it was just awful. I think the only one i actually enjoyed as an adult was hack//sign

It's pretty normal to hate anime unless you are a fat and balding 40 year old man living in your parent's basement or if you're a greasy teenager.

I hate it too. People who watch it usually think it is the most preciouus thing in the world. I just think it is weird but some of the people seem just fine so maybe it is a psycological disorder or something.

Anime = Cartoon. Some stories deeper than others, some not. Different ones for different audiences. You will like some, you will not like some.

Try different ones before labeling all of them as the same. Personally I didn't like any of the anime you listed and I'm not going to give you a big ol' list to watch like most anime nerds do. But again, there are plenty of anime out there, try to find a story that will interest you. Go to http://www.animenfo.com and see what sounds good.

My god. While I wasn't a big fan of Cowboy Bebop and have no interest in seeing Ghost in the Shell, .hack//SIGN was so insanely SLOW w/ the most annoying main character ever! Other than the kick ass music, I couldn't find much to be interested in. Well I guess this explains my point, theres different ones for different people. =P

Much to my suprise, there are actually a few good ones.
However, 99% of today's mainstream anime is - IMO - not aimed at adults. Not every series contains endless waves of schoolgirls/superheroes/ninjas, there are some down to earth ones as well.

I believe it was said best in #neochat:

"The amount of anime one has is directly proportional to how much of a loser he/she is."

I've sincerely tried to understand it by watching it with friends - and I still hate it.

I am at the point where I don't want to even try again.

ignorance is bliss eh? ;)

this coming from somebody who has to participate in a hate thread on a weekend... last time i checked most everyone on #neochat is geek/nerd/loser :p go out and meet some real people, why waste time chatting?

if hating on something you hardly know anything about and couldnt care less about makes you feel bigger and better, go ahead. in the meantime i would be having fun enjoying my favorite shows. off to watch some more, losers :p
