My personal favorite right now is the new Hellsing OVA's that have been coming out. They are stylish gorefests of vampire on vampire action and the newer series holds true to the manga. If you are both a vampire fan and an anime fan I highly recommend it.

The only series I'm watching / reading right now is Naruto and Bleach, both of which I'm sure people love to hate but it's something I can watch with my wife so I enjoy it.

One Piece, though it isn't new. IMO, it's the best manga/anime out there.

i dont like one piece.

my favorite anime remains code geass, and my favorite manga remains history's strongest disciple kenichi. (with mahou sensei negima in second place.)

One Piece is probably the best anime out there. You just cant be OCD ADD like most anime that stop after 26 episodes.

Elfen Lied.

It's pretty laid back, romantic comedy.

No violence whatsoever

Definitely not dark.

i downloaded all that was available, and am watching it.

tbh, it's not that great. i like the artwork, the basic storyline is okay, but some moments where laws of physics cease to apply, and character interactions take a turn for the retarded, are just bad.

but oh well. i'll probably watch the whole series because i'm desperate for new stuff.

It's practically a retelling of the original series. I remember watching it having no idea what it was supposed to be and I see the Fuhrer... I ask my friend, "wait a minute... he died in the original series, didn't he?"

Episode 6 came out this past Friday. I'm currently just waiting on some subs as I've got the RAW right now.

Sweet! I'll have to download it ASAP, hopefully the sub will be out soon. Episode 6 concludes the series from what I read.

I've heard musing of it possibly going up to 10 or 11 episodes based on where 6 ends.

Is that last week's chapter or did this week's chapter come out already (which means I need to read ASAP!)? I can never remember the chapters :(.

Oh and out of curiosity, what do you use to read your manga? I tried out ACDSee, which I rather liked, but I can't see myself paying $50 for a program just to read manga for 20 minutes every week. I tried out XnView and I was able to get it to closely mimic ACDSee except for two things.... It puts all the files in the tree view as well as in the browser window where I just want folders and drives in the tree view (the normal way a tree view is set up). Also, the back button on my mouse doesn't work to go up a level like it does in ACDSee. One advantage to XnView (which I probably could've done with ACDSee) is that I told it to only show pictures, folders and archive files, since manga usually only includes those objects. I should probably include text files too since sometimes mangas will come with text-based notes.
