Anime : GTO

Hi there, my roommate is a big Anime fans.

I'm thinking of getting him some Anime. He has seen quite alot of Anime and i'm wonder what do you guys think about the following :

- Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO)

Has anyone watch this anime? I have never watch the anime but i've watched the Comic Book and TV Drama series of GTO and i thought it's pretty cool.


So, for those of you have seen it, what do you think of it?

I'd give it a solid 9. of course it's main target is males (and you can tell just by the first episode), so expect a lot of..umm...

Parts of it suck, parts of it are good. A lot of parts actually sucked.

I haven't even read the first post of the thread, but I have to say:

Watched about half of it so far (my college anime club is running it right now), and I have to say, it's pretty funny. 8-9 overall. From what a friend says, it follows the drama pretty closely in terms of events, although how Onizuka deals with certain sitations isn't always the same.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a great series, but it gets very metaphysical and metaphorical at the end, which drives a lot of people off. If you've ever seen the End of Eva/Death/Rebirth movies, you'll know what I mean; the whole thing just got bizarre. It just fvcks with your mind, man.
