Anime Fans: What does OVA mean?

Original Video Animation? Not sure of the exact words, but it basically means they put a much larger group of people and money into it, giving better story, animation, and movie length (90 minutes)

Basically it means an anime movie

"Original Video Animation" or "Original Animation Video". Basically, not made for TV.

It means it was released direct to video and generally means better animation, but not necessarily 90 minutes. There are many ~30 minutes OVA releases.

Thanks, uh so what would the TV series then be referred to as?

Um... whatever the name is. If the filename<cough> er, movie title has OVA in it just remove that and you've got the series name.
