A bit off the topic, but still for the matrix

I just d/l the available series from the website and converted them all to VCD so I could pop them in my dvd player. While i was doing that, they came out fine and all...buuuut when I tried to convert any of the Matrix Reloaded trailers, all the programs I used crashed (Tmpgenc, EO video, QT6pro...etc).. so can someone help me convert them to AVI or MPG or anything but RM or MOV so I can make a decent VCD of the trailer, cuz it looks awesome
