I have been doing a dance with Dell's idiotic outsourced broken english tech. representatives for almost 2 weeks now trying to get them to ship my replacement LCD for my laptop (the order has been listed as pre-production as of october 17th) Is there a way to speak with someone who speaks english? I am just so frustrated!!! I live at college, here's how bad they are. A UPS truck went to my home residence because Dell ordered them to pick up a broken LCD, 2 problems with that. 1: that's not the adress I gave them, and 2: I never got the replacement screen!!! It is like negotiating with a 10 year old and I cann't take it anymore! I was supposed to recieve a call from their outstanding orders department over a day ago but never did. Do any of you have some advice for me so I can play hardball and get the LCD that is entitled to me? (Mine came defective with horizontal lines across the screen)

What time are you calling? If you call in the evening, you have a bigger chance of getting support from India because its day there for them. Try calling around 10am to noon.

hate to say it, but you get what you pay for. How do you think they can offer the LCD's at such a low price? Outsourced customer support FTL!

Other than calling at different times, try speaking to a manager or something.

What kind of service contract do you have?

If it's just the standard one, the LCD display is not considered to be a customer replaceable, and you would need to send the system in.

OP, if you go through their message boards you have a much better rate of satisfaction. Keep in mind the MBs are run by regular people and not Dell robots.

If you paid using a Dell preferred account, you can start here. Just a helpful hint there, be nice and you'll get much help. Just explain your entire situation and I'm sure you can get some help.

Even if you didn't pay with a DPA you should still get help. *Dell people* do keep an eye out on that forum FWIW.

The Dell MB won't get what he wants though. I've heard good things about the online chat (if they still have that).

I didn't say they'd solve his problems voila. I said they'd tell him where to (really) go. Too many people who bitch about Dell have no clue their message boards even exist which is sad because there are so many people there helping out.

I wouldn't trust online chats or phone calls for the OP at this point until he talked to someone else.
