Ah, the perfect thread for the ATOT tough guy community to collectively circle jerk their e-penises. I kid, I kid.

So apparently the 26 year old man was a "person of interest" in the rape of a 12 year old girl, allegedly luring her several blocks in broad daylight under threat of shooting her, then raping her so bad she required surgery.

Police found physical evidence linking him to the rape and circulated his picture around town. Some teenage boys spotted the man walking down the street and confronted him, ultimately beating the shit out of him as onlookers cheered and joined in, one using a wooden board.

The guy's in critical condition and if it is proven that he was the rapist, he deserves everything he got, but I just hope they got the right guy. That'd be some fucked up shit if you were innocent, just walking down the street minding your own business, not knowing you were a "person of interest," and then get mobbed on. Imagine the real rapist sitting at home watching the news, thinking to himself, "Damn, it sucks to be that guy."

if he's guilty, he deserves it. guys like that should be raped and killed, they are broken people and no use to society.

I understand what you mean, but being a participant in such a society requires we uphold its mores. Onllokers should have intervened, the fact they didn't is cause for concern. The ghost of Kitty Genovese rears her head and demands attention, yet again, poor woman.
 
Yeah... not a big fan of child rapists, but vigilante justice like this is very wrong. Hope the idiots that beat this guy get thrown in jail for a long time as well.

According to the article, police are likely to charge him with rape. So they must feel pretty confident.

Hopefully the police will arrest the people who beat the guy.

You guys cheering this on should just be happy he wasn't beaten by people actually employed by the justice system. If he was beaten by a mob of cops, he could have probably sued the city for a lot of money and he even could have walked. All in exchange for a few physical injuries that will heal over time.

I hope this is the right guy but vigilante justice, especially when the guy hasn't even been put on trial yet, is more likely to backfire than do good.

It would suck to look like the guy in the picture...I'm all for the rapist getting what he deserves but all the mob did was to decide the picture looks like someone walking down the street before trying to send him to his grave.

On the other hand they gave me 9 months for beating the fuck outta him when he got out of the workhouse and I put him in the hospital for a month and half and the motherfucker still can't stand up straight.
