Angry Birds... I don't get it.

Homerboy

I finally saw/played this game. Is that really all it is? Haven't these physics based "knock the crap down" games been around forever?

I normally enjoy cutsie, casual games like this, but I don't get the super-hype behind this one at all. Its nothing really new is it? All the power in the world though to whomever is making their riches off this at $.99 a crack.

(PC gaming? Gadgets? Console Gaming?.... I don't know, so I stuck it in ATOT)

it operates well on the touch-screen platform, and is quite challenging when you get to the higher levels.

in other words, its entertaining and well worth it since u can also get a free version with ads.

Ironically my kids (7 and 9) have been playing these physics-based games for school (Newton's laws and all that). My 7yr old will LOVE this version of it I guess. So I guess it makes that much sense to me... but the hype that was built around this game and everything I have heard made it sound like man reinvented fire or something.

Very addictive game for me. Even better it keeps the kids occupied on car trips to Grandma's house

Eh it's never been *that* addicting to me (and god knows I've been addicted to some games), but it's kind of fun to pass the time when you had to wait in the parking lot/doctor's lobby/etc.

The sound effects are hilarious, there are tiny little things in the game that show it's polish (pigs smiling when you loose, the laughing, etc), the story line, the interesting bird weapons---it's very well done.

Bah. I find it boring as all hell. I burned out of those games when I had in high school looking for a way to circumvent school firewalls to play crappy flash games.

I don't see what people see in it either.

Fixed for you. The challenge really comes from trying to 3 star every single level.

You can apply this same argument to all the other regurgitating crap out there in this world, and be asking yourself the same question.

Music for example probably takes the cake.

They just enjoy their private data stolen...

Can't fix stupid, that's why they play it in the first place.

Yea, I recently tried Angry Birds expecting it to be digital crack... it wasn't.

I've basically played the game before, most notably being the flash version of crush the castle.

I don't understand all the fuss either. I have it and think it's kind of stupid and boring, I got about 1/5 through and don't feel compelled to keep going.

Cut the rope and doodle jump are much better

It's aight. It's more targeted toward people who have never played a video game in their life (like my Aunt and Uncle)

They are making crazy money off angry birds. Now full advertisements play before you can even play the damn game and then more advertisements in the corner, sometimes blocking things you need to see. It's like the game is infected with adware.

I wonder if there's a way to DL a no-ad version somewhere? Haxxored? I had to install appbrain just to play it and it wants to take over my whole phone. It just updates whenever it wants and you can't stop it.

Uhhh so it reports your location? Big whoop. That's not "private data being stolen".

I hear the game actually scans your fingertips and transmits the info to NHS for cross checking.

I'd imagine the government could easily then use the GPS inside the device to sen d super stealth ninjas to your door. So yes, yes you should be worried.
