I haven't watched the actual show, but I spent some time drooling over Kevin Sorbo with shorter hair.

They have great movie sets, cool comp generated graphics, good variations in character types for the crew. They have all the ingredients for a hit show. But they seriously need to fire the writers. It almost feels like they kept the same writers that they used for hercules to write for Andromeda. Pure fantasy storylines have tremendous tolerance for conflicts, incongrueties etc in the plot. Andromeda is a Sci-Fic show and the same sloppyness in storyline that was ok in hercules is not ok in andromeda. They need to quickly replace the writers for whatever episodes they haven't shot yet otherwise this series will fold. I love the premise for the story, and I think they did a good job with characters... just get a sci-fic writer in there (a real one) and this just might be the next show I always watch or tape.

I think EIA is mostly right. Heard the special effects were the most costly ever for TV. Characters seem to be developing slightly. Lets hope. BTW, what is the Rev?

Watched it again last night (Sat). Didnt think it was as bad as some of the rest of the drivel thats on, FREEDOM, for instance.

well, if you compare it to babylon 5 of course andromeda sucks...

andromeda has so many problems, least of which is the plot... which sucks...

I think it suffers from it's creators/producers not wanting it to be a formula Star Trek franchise follow-on, while everyone is expecting it to be the quality of a Star Trek production.

I think they're/it's just stuggling a little to find/create its unique identity within the genre.

I say, give it time. Find the official fan site and post your good or bad comments. Help the show to evolve to be more to your liking.

Anybody watch Earth: Final Conflict? That was another one of Gene Roddenberry's creation after star trek....i don;'t like it much but it's a little entertaining so eh, it's okay. Nothing in comparisonto Star Trek.
