Android users closing the 'paid app' gap with Iphone users

I'm not trying to be a hater or anything... but

1) I'd like to see the spectrum of data between 0 and >20
2) How did they get the survey results? (worried about sample bias)

Edit As a side note, it's good to see the "buy no apps!" mentality is dying. 🙂

The new "Play Store" definitely helps with that. Anyone that's been using Android for a while can attest to how bad the original Android Market was to navigate and search.

Hell yeah. The market still needs a buttload more improvement like complete removal of apps I dont use from 3 years ago. Should be an option to totally remove it from all lists. Also, install/purchase date sorting.

I have, I'd imagine because I'm not going to go count, well over 100 paid apps on iOS. (I've got 20 on my iPad right now and I know it's a fraction of the overall amount.

I've bought like maybe 10 on Android. All stuff I needed, like Slingplayer.

The Play store is just terrible by comparison. It's ugly, it's organized poorly. It's just not fun to browse for things. I thought the App Store was bad but I was wrong. The main advantage the Play store has, IMO, is that I don't have to us my password in to buy free apps, and it doesnt kick me out of the store whenever I buy something. Both of those things are included in iOS's App Store.

Good news for developers. Hopefully this also signals an overall general improvement in quality as well.

I started buying after the 10cent app sales. Now it check for updates to my apps daily, it's sorta addictive lol

There's an app called appsales that checks when apps go on sale and notifies you. You can set all sort of criteria too so you don't get inundated with crap apps.

Only have 5 paid apps but really enjoy the Free app of the day on Amazon. End up getting about three new games every month that I enjoy.

I've purchased I think around 5 apps, but I don't really play games on my phone, so not going to buy many of those, which I assume makes up a lot of app sales for phones. Only game I purchased was Virtua Tennis when it was on sale for $0.99, the other ones are utility apps. Everything else I need is available free.

I bought my first app during the 10 cent sale, then a few more after that, and now my $25 credit is down to $3 or so. With the credit I'm probably at a net positive, but that won't last for long at this rate.
