I'd like to know more about the Favi as well. This may be a stupid question, but what is the input method? I see they have a wireless remote but its priced at $39. Is that in addition to the Favi itself? Or does it come with something?

The demos look pretty impressive for something that only costs $50.

I got a MK 802 II+ a few months ago because it was only $60 including remote. For netflix and youtube it works well, youtube HD looks good. I had to install an old version of netflix though because the newest version would just crash. I haven't tried any video files or local network streaming. Browsing Reddit also works nicely using the Reddit app.

basically, its not super fast as the laptop plugged into HDMI. but for $50, its not bad considering it turns on instantly. serves as a great weather/email/browser/youtube. dont count on it streaming all your mkv/avi files cause of the different codecs. in the video, i played Walking Dead in 720p MKV. with hw decoding, audio is silenced. in sw decoding, audio can be heard but video stutters. dont know why.

Do you have the custom DTS plugin file installed for the MX player? Because it shouldn't struggle with 720p mkv.

I'm waiting for XBMC to support full HW acceleration on Android before I buy one of these Android TV players. That will give time for hardware and software to mature a bit. Til then I'll stick with my JB Apple TV2 and Revue Google TV.
