Android will only get worse over time.

You guys are hilarious.

Android has been getting better with every release, so of course Apple fanboys draw the obvious conclusion that Android will only get worse over time...

You have to understand their progression. They went from saying Android was a lesser platform that wouldn't overtake the iPhone, to saying maybe they will eventually but HA they need multiple devices on multiple carriers, to saying well maybe they're ahead now but the platform is gonna get crappy!@!!!

Its impossible for some of these people to stick to a consistent stance, or to consider that something other than Apple might be worthwhile.

I think that's great that the Android platform is gaining momentum, but after using both devices, its still not enough. At least not yet anyway.

After reading Anand's review on the Incredible, it verified my opinions. The Android platform although robust in hardware (Snapdragon), its still choppy. This is unacceptable and is an obvious software optimization problem.

Aside from speed, the iPhone also has the one up in app quality, which is a big deal.

There's a huge difference between the two. Android is like Windows in which it has to be able to run on different configurations and it's up to the company making the handset to optimize the OS for it but you get a lot more options to be able to do what you want with the OS and everything isn't locked down communist style like the iPhone and doesn't ban things like political satire just cus they don't like it.

I saw somewhere that Android's recent climb into number 2 coincided almost directly with Droid's release on Verizon which also coincided with a fairly large ad campaign.

I bet its to do with Steve telling everyone to get Android if they want a porn phone.:D

I guess with the recent Android 2.2 article, the new OS is going to be many times faster than 2.1. This is great news, hopefully this will solve any lagging issues.
