Android for the touchpad? (replace webOS)

Is this possible yet? I've been looking all over and can't seem to find the software to make this possible. Last I've heard was that one of the team that was working on the software for the port has quit. I got a touchpad and would like to use android on it instead of webOS.

To go through such project the developers need open source version of Android OS.

If the code is Not open, releasing such product (even the product is given free) is a legal violation of the copyright laws.

Until recently the available open source code is of a version t0o old. I.e, it does not worth while to spend the time needed for such project and come out with a TouchPad running old OS.

When, and if, the new Android "Ice Cream Sandwich" becomes available as open source you will see action.

Ports of CyanogenMod 7 have been in the works since the Touchpad was released and the ICS source has been available for almost a month now...
