Android Focus Issues

Before I begin: I have tried different ROMs, and different OS versions on my two primary Android devices with this same issue. I want to know if its just me, and if its not if there is a way to change it:

So basically my problem is Android re-forces my focus on some of its apps.

For example, I pull up Google Play store and start typing in the search box as soon as it comes up. Two seconds later its like the Play Store finishes loading itself and when it does it kicks me out of my search (losing what I typed) and forces me back to the main interface where I have to hit the search button again.

Same thing used to happen to me in Google Maps, but that doesn't happen anymore with the upgrade to Jellybean which makes me think this is simply a Google usability issue.

So am I crazy or have others experienced this?
 
I can't say I experienced it but I'm not sure. I just tested it couple of times on my GNex on 3G by launching the Play Store and quickly hitting the search before it finished loading and typing and I didn't get the reloading issue. I cleared Play Store app from the memory each time I launched to be sure.
 
i have seen this before, on my gnex running cm10. very rarely though, and only in the play store.
 
Yeah I noticed it. Especially when I read about a new app on a website and want to try it so I hit the play store and press the search icon immediately and get kicked back to the main page.

Happened on my Stock GS3 and when I was running AOKP on it or Jellywiz. Same thing on my Transformer Infinity both stock and with clean rom 2.3
 
I've seen this numerous times in the Play store. Only app where I have to wait for it to finish loading before I can start searching. I've seen this mentioned by various others around the web, too, so it's not uncommon from my point of view.
 
Jst tried it on my sgs2 running Jelly Bean but the store loads before I can hit the search function to see if it'll happen.

Yeah, its hard to get. You have to hit search and start typing before the initial loading icon goes away.

Network connection influences store loading times I guess. Tried again but store is loaded before I can swing my thumb up to search box. If I reboot then hit the store icon as soon as possible I get a connection error try again. Maybe OP has poor connection? Sprint maybe?
 
one thing that is irritating is maps. when you load maps, it might not completely load the map. then you start searching and typing. when it finally loads the maps and all layers you initially wanted, the focus disappears from the search box, and you have to start over.

poor design.

That does happen to me. I agree that it shouldn't do that one bit. >_<
