Has anyone bought/used any?

I have L camera installed, but it's not ready for prime time. It doesn't look like they intend to make available in the Play Store anytime soon, either, which is a shame. I've been leaning pretty heavy toward Manual Camera, but am reluctant to pull the trigger.

So, does anyone here have first-hand experience with any of the Camera API 2 apps? If you're feeling particularly generous, some comparison shots would be great as well.

And lastly, I'd start shooting in RAW+JPEG and am wondering about a decent free (legitimately free) solution for processing RAW files.

I don't intend to become a great photographer, but I can appreciate the jump in quality the new API is supposed to afford.

I was surprised, but not really, when no one answered this.

I pulled the trigger on Manual Camera, and very first impressions are that I know nothing about photography. Full auto mode turns it into a point and shoot which is nice.

Next thing was that the settings are easy enough to manage when you get the hang of the UI.

Next thing was that the camera is FAST. And crisp. I took a picture of my hand up close with the background out of focus, and in the gallery app, I could still make out my skin wrinkles zooming in all the way. As in, it didn't look like mud like the stock camera would.

For that alone, I'm satisfied with my purchase. I have yet to find a fee DNG editor, but I haven't looked all that hard. I'm currently shooting JPEG+RAW right now. I'll have to offload pictures more often, but it's a small price to pay for the immediate jump in quality the app provides.

To be honest, though, I'll probably turn off RAW unless I'm at an event or something where a little extra work will go a long way.

If someone is curious enough, I can get stock and Manual Camera comparisons going.

Currently the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 are the only phones to fully implement Camera2 API, yes.

That had better change as we move through this year.
