I am on the lookout for an Android app that will allow certain phone numbers to ring regardless of the ringer mode of my phone.
I found one - Selective Silence. The problem with it, is that it puts my phone ringer to max after it activates. I would like to keep my phone on vibrate all the time, and only have certain number activate the ringer.

Sounds like something you could customize with Tasker.

Possibly use Llama? (free)

It is great and the info sections are quite humourous. :) I can't remember for certain if it can do this exact thing but I think that it can. :)

Thanks for the Tasker suggestion. Just got and playing with different options. I think it *may* work.

I have just checked and Llama has a "noisy contacts" option which basically means that you pick certain contacts who will "override the ringer settings in 'x' profile". And then the profile is whatever you set it, e.g. silent at night, silent at work, silent when plugged in etc.

It's really great :)

If you have a S3 or Note 2 there's a feature in the menu calling blocking mode that you can set to mute everything. Then you can add custom numbers that will still ring.
