My buddy developed an app for Android and wants me to test it but i'm getting an error after installing. "application is not installed on your phone"

any thoughts?
more: i tried to reinstall from astro, then open directly from astro after installing (where it says choose "done" or "open"), and it says "the app package installer (process com.android.packageinstaller) has stopped unexpectedly
