who cares

Windows was the worst piece of crap OS in the 1990's and look what happened. NT was a joke compared to Novell and UNIX technologically. MS won the war because of usability and start up speed. Novell and UNIX you had to pay a lot of money to people to sit around for weeks and tinker with the system to get it working just right. with NT you can have a domain set up in less than an hour.

i still remember how i had to move some user folders between servers. the novell/unix guy spent 3 days writing a script that ran for 30 minutes. i used the GUI to copy and paste to the new server and was done in a few hours. and every time we asked a question about permissions or which home folder server they use the novell guy would say that it depends where they log on in the tree

same with iOS. it's simple and easy to use. Android is nice because you can get nice phones for cheap. it might survive hackers but the android market is screwed up to the point where you have to watch for every piece of software you install.

You should complain about how you used to have to program with punch cards too, that's about as relevant as your rant about moving files between two servers.

I did see the news but it was kinda bleah simply due to the fact that participants didn't show up for the competition to hack the other devices/platforms.

Interestingly, I'm wondering if the exploit using Blackberry's new Webkit based browser is the same one present on Safari (iPhone, Mac, PC).

People don't just show up and then attempt to hack the browsers blind right on the spot. They spend a lot of time trying to find a way to hack the browsers before hand and when they find one they just go to the contest and do it. It's not that people didn't try to hack the other browsers.
