In Apple's case, its a feature. Its supposed to work like that. RIM will likely patch the problem, whether carriers OTA the patch is another story.
In yesterdays smartphone category the iPhone 4 was brought down by hackers from a Baltimore-based consulting firm, while RIMs Blackberry Torch 9800 fell to a multi-national team.
