Anyone who blames manning for that is a fucking idiot. Football fans are probably the most ignorant about how their sport works out of any sports fans. The QB isn't a god damned wizard who can make up for a shitty defense and 10 other offensive players 🙄

Um, I saw more than a few poorly thrown balls by Peyton Manning yesterday and one fumble. There were some dropped balls by his receivers though too.

Gee Irsays squandering opportunities, not like they have a history of that or anything. The whole reason the Colts play in Indianapolis is the Irsay families squandering of opportunities.

Are you on dope? The Colts moved because pretty much every criminal in the government of Maryland squandered the bajillion opportunities Irsay gave them to keep the franchise. He got the hell out of Dodge because the state actually tried to steal the team from him.

Yes once Willie Donald floated the eminent domain idiocy the die was cast however what the Irsays did to that team in the 12 years he owned them before moving had nothing to do with the idiots in Annapolis. I was at the 1977 Christmas Eve playoff game against the Oakland Raiders, it was miserable, 20 degrees and windy yet the stadium stayed full to the very end. The fanbase was there which is why the move left such a bitter taste despite the inevitability once the idiots that govern Maryland forced Irsays hand.

Bob Irsay was a moron and was very much like Dan Snyder -- constantly interfering in the team, making player decisions, etc. If he were still alive today, the Colts would probably still suck.

However, in this case, Irsay was right. He tried to work with them on a stadium deal (don't recall if he wanted a new stadium or major improvements to their existing one, no time to look it up) and they refused. IIRC, he was looking at other options (Phoenix and Indianapolis were the finalists) and probably didn't even want to move the team but needed leverage. Once the legislature intervened, he had no choice and Indianapolis had just completed a brand new domed stadium the year before.

As an aside, I still laugh when former Baltimore Colts fans complain about Indianapolis "stealing" their team and then turn right around and cheer on the Ravens, who came from Cleveland. The hypocrisy is comical and the excuses given ("the Ravens left the Browns history in Cleveland!") are a joke.

At this point most of the whining about the Colts leaving has died out. They've been in Indy longer than they were in Baltimore and our new franchise has been a great success. A few curmudgeons still complain, but most people have moved on. Two Super Bowl wins in twelve years helped a lot with that.

Clearly, NE beat Luck, so he is obviously a bust. I mean RG3 sitting at home on the couch watching the games is clearly the superior QB!

Word has it, they're looking to make Luck the highest paid player ever. Don't have the numbers, but I'm guessing about north of 65 million guaranteed.

No more Russell/Stafford/Bradford type unproven deals since he was drafted...glad they have to earn it.

Luck has earned it.

I think there was talk about Wilson getting a huge deal like that as well. They only problem I have with Luck getting the highest payday ever is the Colts need a lot of help, and that isn't going to be cheap. They need an RB and some linemen. If they are going to expect to draft all that, they ain't got enough picks...

He's earned it too, though I think he benefits much more from a running game and good D, so he's isn't asked to do as much as Luck has to do for the reasons you mentioned -- all he really *needs* to do is (god I hate this term) "manage the game", more or less.

But Wilsons darn near top 5, if not there already. I think he's eclipsed Brees, IMO.

LOL you can't be serious. Luck is a beast. You were one of the people who were singing his praises! Now, suddenly, because he sucked it up this game, he's terrible? Come on, man...

It appears he needs to get his rain game down. Some of those passes were on the money, but a lot of them were so far off.

(Psst...sarcasm)

RG3 just announced as the starter for the 'skins. Has Indy even announced if Luck will be on the team next year or not? Didn't think so...

did the local shanahan interview around here make national news? curious if you all heard about it or not yet. he was on a local show for 90 minutes on wednesday discussing his time with the redskins. some very insightful information came out.

they have the audio of it here.

Sorry, been super busy. Still doesn't answer why a certain QB taken in the draft around the same time as RG3 hasn't been named the starter on their respective team.

Just saying... Perhaps, someone's luck has run out!

It's been a while since someone told me water is wet, but I bet it is.
