Andre, keep your shirt on when running the 40

Smith's best 40-yard dash time was 5.28 seconds, and he put up just 19 bench-press lifts at 225 pounds. His 40 time would not have been among the top 10 performers at his position in the combine, and his bench-press reps would have put him well behind the top 10.

the best part

To be fair, Smith is listed at 6-4, 330 pounds. I'm pretty sure everybody in attendance expected to see moobs when the top came off. That aside, the fact that USC kicker David Buehler was able to put up 225 pounds 25 times -- six more than a guy who outweighs him by more than a c-note -- well, that's not good.
No...no it's not. 😀

He was alway tubby in college. He was never going to win any bodybuilding contests. That's just par for the course of being a 325lb - 350lb offensive lineman. That didn't keep him from being one of the most dominant lineman in college football since he started as a freshman.

I seriously can't explain the meltdown since right before the Sugar Bowl. It's simply mind-boggling the decisions he, his family, and his agent have made. There was never anything prior to this that would even suggest something like this would happen.

Whats funny is, this guy is still projected to go high, even though he obviously has emotional/mental and maturity problems. As well as poor preformances in everything.

All the while people with far better preformances are projected to go in the late rounds or not drafted at all.

His game film looks better than most. Even if he needs a manzier.

You can't discount what he did on the playing field. He came in and started as a true freshman right out of high school and dominated consistently for three years.

Success on the playing field is usually a better indicator than the performance at combine and pro day workouts.

Judging by his bench press numbers, more likely Big Mac attack induced.

He has made some very poor decisions and will lose a lot of cash. Granted his on-field performance was great, but college isn't the pros. Look at Winston Justice. Great college guy, but so far as been man-handled as a pro.

You push 20reps @ 225? 🙂

No, 10@ 160 🙁

But I weigh 175 and can do 1x190 😎 (only been lifting since December, but when I started I couldn't even lift 160.)

Edit: The OP made me feel better about my bench because I can lift more than my weight, while a football player being paid jillions cannot.

How do you know he can't? Nothing I read in those blurbs, mentioned his 1rep max.

If Andre Smith can rep 225 for 19, I guarantee that he can bench his body weight and then some.
