I like how the guy from the site goes on that message board and starts posting customers names and information. What a tool. :disgust:

I remember when OCZ was trolling the forums pretending to be members, then starting flamewars with anyone who badmouthed them.

That was pretty bad.

someone (tnt) needs a few lessons on customer service.

to argue with customers about what should amount to an insignificant amount of money is just plain stupid.

I've heard a couple. A lot of people get screwed on rebates, never getting them even though they sent in everything. Once, Tigerdirect signed up everyone who ordered something for some price club or something (there was a monthly fee). There was nothing in their TOS about it or on the page where the item everyone bought was listed.

No matter what the deal, I'll never buy from Tiger Direct.

"They offered me a battery which I said came with it and he snapped that it didn't. I asked if it was a retail box, and he said no, that would cost $137 more. I should have canceled at that time. When the package arrived they had charged $90 shipping for a 5lb package. They never did say what shipping would be."

Wow, sounds like a lot of Best Buy/CompUSA stories that I've read (minus the price club thing).

Screwing the customers has always been a favorite tactic for businesses to make money. Thank god for the internet: I honestly don't know what people did before it!

I'm way more leary about TigerDirect than any large retailer like BB/CUSA, maybe it's just the size difference. I've heard a lot of really bad stuff about tigerdirect over in the HD forum (search the archived threads there for 'Tigerdirect' if you're bored :D)

Best buy tried to pull that crap on me. On the S400, they said I would need to spend at least another $100 on accessories because the included mem card was inferior quality and would hold next to nothing (partially true) and that the included battery had little charge and would only last half an hour (yeah maybe if I was recording flash pictures for a half hour straight :roll;). After we called him on his BS and he still swore to us that they've tested it to discover these shortcomings we basically told him to FO, and wen't to GoodGuys.

Simple rule, don't buy on-line from anyone that is located in Brooklyn.

Unfortunately, as much as I love Brooklyn (I live there), I have to agree. The borough is a hotbed of consumer electronic scam stores. This has been floating around the net for a while. It probably needs an update.

Wow, I love how once it gets pointed out that the company is being seen by much larger groups of people (hammer posted in the thread saying he was from AT and gave a link) he immediately backpedals and offers full refunds to everyone.

The moderator on that board seems like an ass too. He's tryin to tell everyone to calm down and let the merchant sort it out. You don't sit back and let the merchant "sort it out". You raise hell and DEMAND your money back immediately. Then you initiate a chargeback so that it hits the merchant where it hurts and then you post their business practices all over the net.

it's funny how the forum mod keeps defending the company.

I think there is a very big difference in saying that TeK N Toys was charging credit cards before they should, and in what has actually happened, since they were not doing it, someone else was.

It makes no difference who's charging for them. Poor guys who bought from them. Has anyone checked their reseller ratings?

"They call me the very nex day from purchasing a fujifilm s5000 to tell me I had to buy the cable and the software for the camera (wich comes with it in the box cause' i checked at a local store) for an additional 25 dollars. I said no thank's and they agreed to ship the camera without the cable. 5 days later I went to check on the order status and it was cancelled, after 1/2 an hour of waiting on the phone a rude guy (key)answers and tells me that the order was cancelled because I refused to buy the additional cable and software "

wow, what crap
