And you thought Nv's cooling solutions were too big?

Personally, I think thats a great cooler. I'd like to see one that fit the 6800 myself.

the "dust buster" lable has nothing to do with the size of the cooler, so pointing to the HIS cooler just makes you look like a fool. ;)

LOL!

I agree, this cooler actually EXHAUSTS hot air out of the computer case, and the fan is probably less noisier than any 6800 cooling solution.

That thing is awesome! As long as it's quiet I'd love to have that on a 6800 GT. Must work great.

If it acts like a can of compressed air in a case, then consider it a dust buster.

plus I would be worried it would suck a lose cable into the fan.

Maybe it looks more like a blender, albeit a 2 slot-solution blender.

doesn't HIS just use silencer HSF's? and the dustbuster remark people use is because it SOUNDED like a dustbuster like 70 dB or something... I could give a crap about an extra slot being taken up. My Mobo has 6 PCI slots and I use 1 of them.

This was just to poke fun at all the fanATIcs that laughed at the previous 2 slot solutions of Nv.

Apparently sarcasm escapes some people.

I think it is. Just changed a bit to fit the x800 and given a new design.

AFAIK, it IS an VGA silencer (same thing, IIRC).
Nothign new, they had it on the 9800Pro's IIRC, (HIS models).
And these are OPTIONAL.
The dustbuster was the reference cooler, this is not ATi's reference cooler.

It is also something like 40% quieter than the stock X800 fans, and cools 30% more (or 30% quieter, 40% better cooling)

That is an OEM product, not the 5800U cooler that was on EVERY 5800U.

Its also a very popular stand alone product that cools very well, and is very quiet.

You cant compare the two, doing so makes you look silly.

Except it wasnt a joke. At least he didnt act like it was, untill it got pointed out to him that it was foolish to compare them. His first post even says "This is not a joke".

and incorrectly so - these are almost silent. these are the same type many of us used on r3xx - they disappate heat very well and and vent the heated air outside the case.

the problem with the 'dustbuster' design wasn't size, rather that it SOUNDED like a damned dustbuster.

I wouldnt worry about loose cables because my cable management doesnt suck.

The dust buster label came from noise, not the size.
