There's definitely some kind of line that some people go over. If someone handed me an iPad and said here, you can have it, I'd be ecstatic. Sure, an iPad isn't the first thing I'd go and buy if I had $500 to spend on something, but I definitely wouldn't mind having one. I've spoken with people who claim that they would refuse an iPad if someone offered it to them for free, which is just ridiculous irrational fanboyism.

Me personally, I wouldn't plop down $500 for an iPad simply because I don't think it does enough. Mainly a full featured browsing experience. There should be no reason Safari doesn't render pages exactly like a full desktop/laptop does.

But....so far it is the most successful tablet. It has already sold millions and the iPhone OS coupled with the A4 is the best combo in a tablet thus far.

Where is the competition? Oh yeah, they were KO'd before even stepping into the ring. Just like the iPhone was released in 2007, I smell another era of iPads of no competition in sight.
