They better start worrying because there will be Android tablets later this year. And by then they might only have a 5 million tablet lead.

APPLE IS DOOMED!

I'm glad that all the idiots are segregated.

LOL, yep they're in BIG TROUBLE...

Seriously though, that's a hell of a lot of iPads, and a hell of a lot of app purchases. I stand by what I've said for some time, the iPad is signaling a fundamental shift in personal computing.

but the question is....will people flock to buy it or will it turn into an easily past benchmark?

You guys know I pick on Apple, but they do know how to sell. I still don't see the point in an iPad but I guess some people have.

You can't even print from the thing, right?

So like, I'm poor and cheap, so I don't have one. Do they have that airplane landing game in an HD version? JESUS that fucker is fun.

Sure you can, just set up a VNC between it and your PC and you can print until your hearts content. It might be a round about way, but it would work flawlessly. I see a web page I wanna print I just drag it to my VNC and print from my Windows box. This method is ghetto approved and old school as hell. I don't have an iPad to test this out, but I've done it on my iPhone a few times. Haters can say what they want but I have printed from my iPhone. Now for people without an actual PC this will not work at all :D

Well, the thing is that it's a 3rd device, I really don't need to print from it. I can always score a PC somewhere & print from it, and it's not like I'm gonna lug around a printer anyway...

The biggest PITA for me is no multitasking, yet. Task switching will come with the next OS update, and be very welcome.

I don't think I'll ever see the appeal.

Unless there is a universal remote app for it. Does it have IR?

actually, there is. it sells w/ an IR adapter tho, and is for the iPhone/iPod touch. I was hoping someone would bring that to the iPad.

The appeal is simply something to have anywhere around the house that you can just pick up and use. and personally, something to aid in replacing the photo album.

not to mention these tablets are the perfect shitcan computers.

however, with that said, it's value to me isn't quite that high, so I will wait till they become a commodity.

Nope, they really are like a giant iPod Touch right now, future generations will be a bit different though.

The thing is, a giant iPod Touch is pretty cool...

Not to mention the lack of Flash; a dealbreaker to those running Flashblock just six months ago :D

OMFG, I forgot, yeah, the dealbreaker of no Flash.

LULZ, I literally love the Netflix app and the ABC app.

I may even pay for a Hulu subscription if they ever do an app as they've promised... I'm going without cable at my new place, OTA is pretty decent...

This would be really useful. What app are you using on the iPhone to do this? How do you drag the webpage to the iPhone VNC app?

And I bought an iPad too. It's busy working it's way to me. My wife and kids want one (and, I admit, I want to play with it too). I know neighbors who have dropped $500+ on in-car entertainment systems... this is my in-car entertainment system. :)

I'd love to have one, but it's about 50% more than I'm willing to pay for it.

I don't mind a giant iPod touch. Although it's harder to carry around. I wasted hours a day playing stupid games like Tap Tap Revenge on my iPod Touch. I would hit a high score everyday in the bathroom at work for a month straight before I got into top 100. Then I quit. LOL.

That would be pretty fun on a larger high res device.

Yup. I thought everyone on this forum ran NoScript with their FF, or some equivalent on Chrome. But when it comes to a mobile device, Flash becomes the most important thing in the world.

You know it's kind of funny ... for me, the iPhone is just a bit too small (3.6 inch screen) versus the HTC Evo (4.3 inch screen) and as a result I will likely end my two year contract with the iPhone 3G/ATT and switch to Evo/Sprint. But, I think the iPad is just a little too big and would prefer, for those applications that the iPad is well suited, for a display closer to 8.5 inches versus the 9.7 inch iPad. I also think the iPad has too much wasted space in the bezel and could have made it nearly an inch smaller in both dimensions. So, give me a touch screen pad with a display of about 8.5 inches with a much smaller bezel and I'm there...

After using one for a while, I find the bezel is a necessary evil, if it wrern't the size it is, you'd be triggering the touchscreen all the time or holding it in a very uncomfortable fashion.

I will buy one as soon as my smartphone or laptop dies, and since my laptop already has dead battery... :sneaky:

Everything I was thinking... just waiting for the price to drop so I can use it as a throw-around internet-surfing device around the house. I don't want to lug my laptop out from the home office, which is a work machine anyway. Just something to have on the coffee table. I wish the tabletPCs made it prime time so we'd have more options by now... but noooooooo...

Can't even use the VGA adapter to watch the movies you purchased off iTunes or presentations you made through Pages or Keynote on a tv. Pwahahahaha that's great.
