You should be lucky that you haven't experienced any Ayala, timlin, slocumb *shudders*, Jose Mesa, and Kaz late inning moronic performance.
The Mariners + closer = disaster.
I just hope Shiggy won't get contaminated by this disease.

Kaz has not been a disaster. Though he does have a flare for the late-inning dramatic situation, he's been in the top 10 closers recently, and is the best closer in Mariner history. :)

3.09 career era, 129 saves, 22 blown saves. That's .1705 blown saves per save. Compared to Rivera, one of the most dominant closers of recent history (.159 blown saves per save, 2.52 ERA), that's not bad.

Everyone else I agree with though. ;)

I noticed that a delusional Red Sox fan posted here earlier. Knee-jerk reaction, sorry.

That's good news I boycotted the Yankees for acquiring that POS Benitez.

I will watch again, and maybe go to a game later this season.

Good trade for the Yankees. :D

I would say good trade for the M's too BECAUSE, there is so much bad press about Benitez that he wont feel any pressure. The M's needed to get rid of Nelson, you can't badmouth your organization like that.

Sox gave up too much for a sub .500 or barely .500 pitcher in Suppan. Damon is always slow the first half of the season but hes heating up.

hey chowderheads, didn't the crappy ass Angels make a mockery of your pen yesterday? It doesn't matter that you got half of Pittsburgh's staff, you will once again fade down the stretch

<--- not necessarily a Boston hater, just a realist :D

I think the Yanks owner has some mofia ties. They seem to get a lot of easy trades in their favor. I can't remember exactly who got traded but I do remember going "WTF!?!" .

And the Angels still won the world series! After all the money spent on these dicks who can't produce in the playoffs.

The Mariners needed a closer because Sasaki is on the DL (though coming off very soon)
They can use Benitez as Sasaki is probably not going to have his best stuff when he comes
back. Sasaki hasn't been all that good this year anyway. Benitez may have blown alot of
games, but in Seattle who knows. Benitez is not a setup guy and does have good stuff.

Nelson is a setup guy and not a closer, which is what the Yankees needed. Nelson has a
lower playoff ERA than Benitez, but also has a higher number 11, vs Benitez 4 whe it
comes to inherited runners scored. They both had around the same number of inherited runners.

I think if Benitez can get over his mental problems which is possible on in Seattle where the pressure
isn't anywhere as much as it is in New York, then he can shine again. But he could blow up and be a
waste. But I wouldn't count him out yet.

As for Red Sox. Ya Suppan got shelled for 7 runs in 5 innings, but he had 8 days off, and all the trade
crap to deal with. I would think he deserves atleast a second start before people bash him as a bust.
Oh and another thing ya the Red Sox bullpen let in 2 more runs in that game. But they came home with
the win. Where as the Yankee's Rivera has blow 3 saves in 5 games (Against Oakland and Texas).
All those games ending in losses.

Its going to be a close AL East Race.
