Looking at the stats , TeAm AnandTech was poised to jump over Redfolders and almost immediately Alien Soup and into the top 20 :D But it looks like Redfolders ramped up their production to hold us off, and The Tech Report is going to knock us back a spot when they fly past us ( they're doing twice our production :Q ).

To all those who joined, folded a few wu's, then drifted away....please fold a few more for the TeAm! Even one ( 1 ) wu a week would be a tremendous boost for us. You can run FaH along with most other DC programs with little or no impact on them, and I know the rest of the TeAm would be greatly appreciative of your help. Please consider folding a few wu's. Thanks. :D

To the rest of my teammates, the ride has been wild so far, now we get to kick'em in the knee caps and climb over them--get your climbing shoes on dudes!! :D:D:D

plz, everyone check to make sure they're doing a WU. I checked last time and saw a 1 MONTH time esitmation (folding monitor).. i figured it was a fluke and just ignored it for the time being (and forgot about it). i found out that i was doing barely nothing for the last MONTH. I was using the console as a service under XP... version 2.19. I have thus switched back to the GUI and just leave it in the tray again. I did it to my divx box as well just in case.

Wow!! WTG IceCreamMan! I found it on Stanford's site, but it hasn't shown up on statman's site yet. r0tt3n1, why don't you post it for all to see?

I am relishing it while I can because in about 5 or 10 minutes GolfGeek is going to lope right by me.
Way to go team! Keep folding...

Is there a chart of which CPUs are better at Folding@Home as compared to say.. Seti@Home ?

EDIT: Another question: How is it that someone can have a higher "score" but a lower number of work units? Is there some degree of chance involved as to which machine finds a special something in the work unit that is being analyzed or what?

Don't sweat it IceCreamMan, we don't what you to melt. I think it will more like 5-10 days not minutes. By the way - I should have 3 more servers up and running by the end of next week.
Fold baby Fold!

Yeah, what they do is spin a wheel and the value that comes up is what you get for points, they're not really concerned about how many wu's you do...

j/k :D Actually, each wu is assigned pts depending on it's degree of difficulty to crunch, so ones that take longer to do end up being worth more pts than an easy one.

Okay, that helps. :) So, is there a way to choose which type of work units you want to download and crunch, or do you just get assigned whatever?

You get what they send you--but each wu is based on the one you just finished, which is why unlike seti where you can download a whole bunch of wu's at one time, with FaH you only do one at a time.
